Removing the Smart Card Reader 

 

 

1.

Follow the instructions in "

Preparing to Work Inside the Computer

."  

 

 

  

2.

Remove the 

display assembly

.  

 

 

  

3.

Remove the 

keyboard

.  

 

 

  

4.

Remove the 

palm rest

.  

 

 

  

5.

Locate the smart card reader and disconnect the smart-card ZIF connector from the system board.  
 

  

 

 

6.

Remove the single M2 x 3-mm screw in the neck of the smart card reader.  
 

 

  

7.

Lift the smart card reader slightly and slide it out from under the tabs holding it in place.
