Installing and removing blade components
This section provides information about installing and removing the blade components. For information about installing and removing

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a

service technician. Youshould only perform troubleshooting and
simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support
team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety
instructions that are shipped with yourproduct.
NOTE: Dell recommends thatyou always usean antistatic mat and antistatic wrist strap whileworking on components
inside the system.
NOTE: Toensure proper operation and cooling, all bays in the system must be populated always with either a system
componentorwithablank.
Before working inside your system
Prerequisite
Follow the safety guidelines listed in safety instructions section.
Steps
1.
Turnoff the blade by using the Chassis Management Controller (CMC).
2.
Remove the blade from the enclosure.
3.
Install the I/O connector cover.
4.
Remove the system cover.
