User Guidelines
PIM must be disabled before DVMRP can be enabled. This command
enables IGMP/MLD. Disabling IGMP/MLD may operationally disable
multicast routing.
Example
The following example sets VLAN 15’s administrative mode of DVMRP to
active.
console(config)#interface vlan 15
console(config-if-vlan15)#ip dvmrp
ip dvmrp metric
Use the ip dvmrp metric command in Interface Configuration mode to
configure the metric for an interface. This value is used in the DVMRP
messages as the cost to reach this network.
Syntax
ip dvmrp metric metric
no ip dvmrp metric
• metric — Cost to reach the network. (Range: 1-31)
