Replacing the Processor

Procedure
NOTE:
A new processor ships with a thermal pad in the package. In some cases, the
processor may ship with the thermal pad attached to it.

Unpack the new processor, being careful not to touch the underside of the
processor.
CAUTION: Do not touch the underside of the processor.
CAUTION: You must position the processor correctly in the processor socket to
avoid damage to the processor.

If the release lever on the socket is not fully extended, move it to that position.

Orient the alignment notches on the processor with the alignment tabs on the
socket.

Align the pin-1 corner of the processor with the pin-1 corner of the processor
socket, and then place the processor in the processor socket. Set the processor
lightly in the socket and ensure that the processor is positioned correctly.
