Removing the processor

Prerequisites
1 Remove the computer cover .
2 Remove the front bezel .
3 Follow the procedure from step 1 to step 6 in “ Removing the optical drive ”.
4 Remove the memory modules .
5 Remove the fan shroud .
6 Remove the thermal-cooling assembly .
Procedure
1 Locate the processor on the system board.
2 Press the release-lever down and then pull it outwards to release it from the securing tab.
3 Pull up the release-lever completely to unlock the processor.
4 Gently lift the processor and remove it from the processor socket.
