PE Port Numbering
On the C1048P, the 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports support full-duplex mode 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds on
standard Category 5 UTP cable and Power over Ethernet — PoE (15.4W) and PoE+ (30W).
After the initial C1048P software provisioning is performed, you can configure L2 and other software
features on the C1048P by entering CLI commands on the C9010 console. C1048P interfaces are
identified in the command syntax:
interface peGigE
pe-id
/
pe-stack—unit-id
/
port-number
where
pe-id
is a port-extender ID number from 0 to 255;
pe-stack-unit-id
is a PE stack-unit number
from 0 to 7;
port-number
is a port number from 1 to 48.
10/100/1000BASE-T ports on the front panel are numbered from 1 to 48, starting with the upper port on
the far left side (facing you). Odd-numbered ports 1-47 are on top; even-numbered ports 2-48 are on the
bottom. The two 10GbE SFP+ ports (shown in Figure 1), which are used only for uplinks to an attached
C9010, are numbered 1 and 2.
