Click Yes.
The Configuration page appears.
5. On the Configuration page, perform the following actions:
a. In the Capacity Cubes list, select the number of capacity cubes to add to
the X400 Appliance.
b. In the Capacity Cube
N field, type in the serial number of each capacity
cube. For example,
OPT001CAP01005
The serial number is on the blue label on the information tag of the capacity
cube.
c. Click Verify Configuration.
X400 displays a message that the cube configuration is verified.
d. Click Next.
The Internal Network Configuration page appears.
6. On the Internal Network Configuration page, perform the following actions:
a. In the IP Prefix field, specify a subnet mask not in use.
For example, specify
192.168.32
as the IP prefix for a value of
192.168.32.0/24
. The 0/24 is a fixed range.
The system uses this subnet mask to automatically assign IP addresses.
Note:
You do not have to enter these IP addresses in DNS.
b. In the VLAN ID field, specify a numerical VLAN ID.
If the switch port is using untagged/access mode, use VLAN 0. If the switch
port is using tagged/trunk mode, provide the correct VLAN ID that
corresponds to your network.
CAUTION
It is possible to lose connection to the X400 Appliance if the
wrong VLAN ID is used.
c. In the Bonding list, select the port bonding configuration.
The default is Active/Standby. Select LACP if you would like a higher
bandwidth than what is available from a single physical port. If you select
LACP, configure the corresponding LACP ports on the switch(es) after you
have completed all the configuration steps in the PowerProtect X400
Appliance Configuration UI.
d. In the MTU field, specify the maximum transition units (MTU) value.
The default is 1500. For jumbo frames, specify 9000.
Select the MTU size based on the MTU setting in the router or switch
configuration you are using for this network.
e. Click Next.
The Data and Management Network Configuration page appears.
7. On the Data and Management Network Configuration page, perform the
