3.2.3 IS STK insulating stick with AD ZK STK 30 360 adapter
For installations up to 36 kV / 15-60 Hz
Screw the IS 36 STK 30 1280 or IS 36 STK 43 1280 insulating stick with AD ZK STK 30 360
adapter to the operating head as described in the previous section. To position the digital
camera at parts of the installation which are difficult to access, the IS STK insulating stick
can be extended in the insertion depth area (insulating stick
extensions) and handle area
(extension handles) (see 10.).
3.2.4 Maximum total length of the insulating stick
Attention:
To prevent damage and to ensure ease of use, the total length of the insulating stick is restricted
to 5500 mm. This prevents that the operating head and particularly the coupling element are
overloaded. If the length of the insulating stick exceeds this value, it may be advisable not
to raise the combination of operating head and insulating stick from a horizontal position.
Separable insulating sticks should be rather assembled in a vertical position e.g. by means of
the plastic plug-in coupling (see 3.2.5)!
The maximum length of the extensions with plug-in coupling (insulating stick extension or
extension handle see Table 1) should not exceed 4200 mm.
If extensions with gear coupling are used, this value is reduced to 3000 mm.
The maximum length of the extension with gear coupling (ISV ZK extension see Table 1) should
not exceed 840 mm.
3.2.5 Installation and removal of the plastic plug-in coupling
To mount the plastic plug-in coupling, simply plug the two coupling elements together until the
pushbutton snaps in.
To remove the plug-in coupling, push the yellow pushbutton so that both coupling elements
can be easily pulled apart (see Figure 4).
