7 Cleaning and Disinfecting
CAUTION
Before cleaning or disinfecting the Battery Pack or Charging
Stand, disconnect the Wall Charger connector from the
AC outlet. Failure to follow this instruction may result in
electrical shock and Charging Stand malfunction.
The following are important guidelines must be adhered to when cleaning the
Battery Pack and Charging Stand:
Use a soft cloth dampened with one of the following recommended cleaning
agents:
– Soapy water
– Ammonia-based cleaners
– Hydrogen peroxide
– Isopropyl alcohol (70 percent solution)
– 3 percent chlorine bleach/water mixture
Do not immerse the Battery Pack, Charging Stand, or Wall Charger in fluids or
allow fluids to enter the items.
Do not spray cleaning solutions directly on the Battery Pack, Charging Stand, or
Wall Charger or in any connectors.
8 Maintenance
The Charging Stand and Wall Charger are designed for minimal maintenance.
When the Charging Stand and Wall Charger have not been recently used,
dropped or otherwise as required by local protocol, it is recommended that
periodically:

The Charging Stand and Wall Charger be visually inspected to ensure that
(1) they are clean and dry, (2) no parts are damaged or rattling, and (3) the
Wall Charger cable jacket is not dirty, damaged, or torn.
•
The power-on and charging functionality of the Charging Stand and Wall
Charger be checked by removing the Battery Pack from the Charging Stand,
connecting the Wall Charger cable and verifying that the LED indicator on
the Charging Stand and Wall Charger briefly flashes green.
See Section 4.5 of this User Manual for recommended maintenance of the Bat-
tery Pack when installed in a Defibtech AED.
8.1 Repair Parts Availability Policy
The Battery Pack, Charging Stand, Wall Charger, Wall Charger connector and
cable contain no user serviceable parts.
