Wrap some tissue paper
around the middle of one of the
steering tie rods. Hold the rod
with pliers, as shown, and screw a
ball end onto each end. Then
repeat the process for the second
steering tie rod.

Both steering tie rods must be
the same length – about 66mm –
when assembled. Measure the
length using a caliper gauge.

Now you will need the two
remaining ball ends and the rear
suspension tie rod.

Screw the two ball ends onto
the rod.

Adjust the distance between
the ball ends to about 2.5mm.

Store the three assembled
tie rods, along with the unused
ball-headed screws, until they
are needed.
