Note:
The bus and channel numbers are not used for the SB-3621x card and
should be set to 0. All numbers are in decimal format.
8. The driver is distributed as a versioning enabled loadable kernel
module, therefore module support (CONFIG_MODULES) and
versioning (CONFIG_MODVERSIONS) must be compiled into the
kernel in order to use the card and RTL. The driver source is
included with the distribution in the event that any kernel
symbols or data types are not compatible with the driver binary.
Incompatibility is evident when the driver fails to load into the
kernel. If a rebuild is required, simply run ‘make SB3621.0’ in the
‘synchro’ directory as unprivileged user than copy ‘SB3621.0’ to
‘/usr/lib/ddc’ as root.
9. Loading and unloading of the driver is accomplished by running
the appropriate script as superuser. ‘/usr/sbin/sb3621x_load’ will
create the required device special files and load the driver into
the kernel, and ‘/usr/sbin/sb3621x_unload’ does the reverse.
Calls to these scripts can also be made at startup or login time in
the runtime command (rc) section of the ‘/etc’ tree, or user
startup files, respectively. To gain a better understanding of what
the scripts do, it is suggested that the user view them.
10. Compile the sample application.
cd synchro
make 3621 test
cd samples
11. Execute the sample application.
./3621_linux
After successfully installing the drivers, refer to step 3 in the
Console
