Changing Transmitter ID
Each wireless transmitting station, including the Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS),
uses one of eight selectable transmitter IDs. DIP switches #1, 2 and 3 on the
transmitter allows you to control the ID — the “channel” the station will trans-
mit on. (DIP switch #4 is used for transmission testing, not for transmitter ID.)
The transmitter and receiver communicate with each other only when both are set to
the same ID.
Although the ISS defaults to transmitter ID ‘1’ and the Vantage Pro console/
receiver should find it on that “channel” automatically, there may be a reason
to change the ID using the DIP switches located on the Sensor Interface Mod-
ule, or SIM. Examples:
✦
Another Davis Instruments wireless weather station is operating nearby, on trans-
mitter ID ‘1’.
✦
You purchased additional wireless transmitting stations with your Vantage Pro or
Vantage Pro Plus and want to designate one of them as Station No. 1 instead of the
ISS.
To access the SIM, the radiation shield must be open.
(See “Disassembling
the Radiation Shield” on page 9.)
