Storage Enclosure Zoning
This section describes the different DNS-2640 JBOD Storage Enclosure zoning options and drive grouping within
each zoning configuration. The storage enclosure features provide for zoning on the I/O controllers. This allows the
input ports on the I/O controllers to be assigned specifically to particular drives in the system.
Overview of Drive Grouping
There are four zoning configurations. The zoning configuration setting is configurable in-band via SES String.
Changes takes effect after power cycling or resetting the enclosure.
Single zone (Default)
Single zone provides unrestricted access to all 24 drive slots.
Drive slots 1-24 are available to all six Mini-SAS HD ports on
both I/O controllers.
