User Friendly Name
This parameter provides a way to identify the Gryphon™ BT reader in a human
readable (user-friendly), format. This name is returned with the reader configuration
parameters (see par. 5.6). The name is made up of a fixed 20-character field. If you
choose to use a name that is less than 20 characters, you must fill in the blanks with
a valid character (i.e. space character). Valid characters are in the range 00 - 7E and
must be entered in hex format.
5.5.6
Beeper Control for Radio Response
The data entry good read tone normally results in two beeps; the first indicates that
the reader has decoded the code, the second indicates whether the remote
Bluetooth
®
device has received the data.
This can be changed according to the following selections:
♦
Good Decode and Good Reception: both good decode and good reception are
signaled (two beeps).
♦
Only Good Decode: only the first beep indicating a good read is signaled.
♦
Only Good Reception: only the second beep indicating a good reception is
signaled.
♦
Off: Neither good read nor good reception beeps are signaled.
For all configurations, any transmission errors will always be signaled.
5.5.7
Auto-Connection (Master only)
Upon power-up, the Gryphon ™ BT reader makes attempts to connect with the
remote Bluethooth
®
device (Slave). If the connection is not successful, the reader
remains on, but not connected.
In this case the connection can be re-requested by double clicking the reader trigger
or by reading the "Request Radio Connection" command in par. 5.7.
5.5.8
Auto-Reconnection (Master only)
If a radio connection is interrupted, the Gryphon ™ BT reader makes attempts to
reconnect with the remote Bluethooth
®
device (Slave). If the connection is not
successful, the reader remains on, but not connected.
In this case the connection can be re-requested by double clicking the reader trigger
or by reading the "Request Radio Connection" command in par. 5.7.
