6.- SERVICE AND TROUBLESHOOTING

6.1.- CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR

D.A.S. amplifiers have been designed and built with the best

electronic components available for utmost reliability. The simple,

modular construction provides easy servicing.

6.2.- OBSERVATIONS

WARNING:

The topology used on models E-2 and E-4 does not

allow to take measurements at the output referenced to ground so

that, to take measurements at the amplifier's outputs, a differential

probe is required.

6.2.1.-

If the amplifier seems to have no mains supply, check the

fuse. If it is blown, replace it by another of exactly the same type.

(Fuse type for each model is indicated on the fuse itself as well as

printed on the AC PCB). If it blows again, return the amplifier for

inspection to the factory or to any authorised dealer.

6.2.2.-

If there are no signs of output signal, check connections. If

clip

LED is lit, check for a possible short-circuit in the speaker

cables.

6.2.3.

-On models E-2 and E-4, the SIGNAL LED indicated signal

presence, regardless of the INPUT LEVEL control, which can be

useful for troubleshooting.

6.2.4.

- On models E-8, E-12 and E-20, if DC current is detected at

the inputs, the amplifier will disconnect the output and the orange

SAFEGUARD

LED will indicate that the outputs have been

deactivated (no sound will be heard through the speaker system).

You can verify the existence of DC, by measuring the offset voltage

of the input source, or by disconnecting it from the amplifier, in

which case the orange LED will turn off.

6.2.5.

- With use, the grills on the front panel and on the fan may

accumulate dirt and dust. Be sure to keep them clean at all times to

assure proper fan cooling.

7.- WARRANTY

The warranty certificate is found in the carton box with every

amplifier. Read carefully and follow instructions in the event of a

malfunction. The warranty covers manufacturing defects, parts and

labour. This applies to units purchased inside Spain.*

D.A.S. cannot be responsible for improper use or installation.

Inadequate electrical current may also affect the amplifier's normal

operation. If this is the case, D.A.S. cannot be held responsible for

failures in both the amplifiers and the speaker systems connected

to them.

*Outside Spain, ask your local distributor for warranty details.
