1. Cut out the template which relates to your particular model Awning (GEN 1 or GEN 2).
2. Fold the template along the dotted line and place it against the inside of the main perpendicular rafter arm.
3. Ensure the template lines up perfectly along the top and bottom of the rafter arm. Mark the hole location.
4. Drill a pilot hole with a 3mm (1/8") drill bit (approximately). Then, increase the hole diameter using an 8mm (5/16") drill.
Remove all sharp edges.
