2.5 Duct connection
If ducts for air intake and exhaust are to be fitted, it is important that the total pressure loss of the
entire duct system is not too large, please refer to section 6 “Technical data”. With high pressure
losses in the ducts the quantity of the air will be reduced, so that the unit may become overheated
and switch off (see also section 5, Fault finding). A too high pressure loss will also reduce the
efficiency of the unit, and the unit may not be approved by the chimney sweep or the gas company.
2.6 WA 45 – 300 used in horizontal position
All units can also be used in horizontal position with air exhaust on either the left-hand or the right-
hand side.
For horizontal mounting special air discharge louvres and cover plates for the bottom of the unit are
available.
If a horizontal unit is used as a process unit with a large fresh air intake, make sure that the unit is
mounted with a slope to the operation side of 20 mm per m so that the condensation of the
combustion chamber can run off. Such units must also be fitted with drain for condensation.
The drain is connected to the outlet placed at the service side of the combustion chamber and also
to the smoke box of the combustion chamber.
2.7 Flue outlet
The heaters are available with flue outlet at the top or at the back of the heater.
2.8 Positioning the safety sensor
From the factory the position of the safety sensor is based on the customer-specified order.
In order to protect the heat exchanger and the combustion
chamber against corrosion, the heat input must never be
reduced so much that the flue gas temperature falls to less
than 120°C.
The positioning of the safety sensor
has to be changed
if the
heater layout is changed on site.
