However, we recommend placing a roller
(4) at the opposite end to the motor so
that the skewer can turn. If necessary,
also attach a counterweight (7) to hold
the skewer down and stable. On some
barbecues, where rotisseries can only be
positioned low, there may not be space
for the counterweight (7).
So, depending on the barbecue, these
units may be used diff erently.
4. The forks (6) must be placed on the
skewer (11) along with the food to hold
it securely. Attach one fork (6) to the
skewer (11) and tighten it so that the
food can then be placed on the skewer
(11). Then t the other fork (6) to secure
the food from both sides. Remember to
tighten the forks securely.
Depending on whether you are using
direct or indirect barbecuing, you may
need to adjust the forks (6) to distribute
the food before starting so that the
position of the food matches the heat.
5. Once the skewer (11) and forks (6) with
the food are secured and ready for use,
place the motor on the bracket (1 or 2)
and insert the skewer into the motor.
Then plug the motor in and switch it on.
6. Then plug the motor in and switch it on.
Finally close the lid of the barbecue.
Note!
• Depending on the type of food, fat may
drip from the food. If possible, always try
to collect as much fat as possible.
• For some barbecues, it may be necessary
to remove the barbecue rack so that
there is room for the food to rotate.
NEVER remove the ame tamers from
over the gas burners, as they protect
against fat and distribute the heat in the
barbecue.
• Make sure to distribute the food
along the skewer so that the weight is
evenly distributed as the skewer turns,
otherwise the motor may be damaged.
Cleaning and maintenance
Clean the skewer and forks after each use
and wipe any water or grease splashes off
the motor.
It is easier to clean the parts if they are still
slightly warm.
Wash the parts in warm water with a little
washing-up liquid. Use a soft brush or a
sponge to remove any burnt on charcoal. If
necessary, they can be left to soak.
Dry the parts thoroughly before putting
them away for storage.
