4 Installing the Hard Drive
The DVR contains eight (8) SATA ports that can each accommodate an 8 TB HDD rated at 7200
RPM or higher. The installation requires a Phillips-head screwdriver.
1. Shut down the device and then unplug the power cable before you open the case to add or
to replace the HDD.
2. Loosen the two top screws and the two side screws from the rear of the unit. Remove the cover
and reserve the screws.
3. Align the HDD with the four holes on the HDD bracket. Use four screws to affix the HDD to the
bracket.
4. Connect one end of the SATA cable to the port on the rear of the HDD. Connect the other end of
the SATA cable to the appropriate connector on the DVR motherboard.
5. Connect the incoming power cable to the HDD.
6. Place the cover back over the DVR and attach using the reserved screws.
