Trouble Shooting guide (DVD)

The recorder does not play.
•
No sound comes through.
•
A disc is playing but a picture does
not appear or a poor picture
appears.

Sound is irregular

REMOTE does not work.

“AUDIO” or “SUBTITLE” button
does not work.

displayed.
Checks
Symptom

If a DVD is from overseas, it may not be played. Please check a DVD’s
region code whether it has the relative region code 2 or All.
➤
Please check whether a DVD is inserted in an upright direction (Label up).
➤
If it is a CD-ROM for PC or DVD-ROM, it will not work.
➤
During play mode if “SLOW” or “PAUSE” selected. (There will be no
sound output.)
➤
Are all connections correct?
➤
Please check the operative condition of TV or amplifier.
➤
From SETUP, please check “AUDIO” menu.
➤
Did you turn on your TV set?
➤
Are all connections correct?
➤
Play may be in “PAUSE” mode.
➤
A disc may have some contaminants or be damaged.
➤
A disc may be faulty.
➤
Please check the connection with Dolby Digital amplifier.
➤
Please check the plugs are connected properly.
➤
Check all contacts and connections.
➤
Please check the angle of operation of the remote control, the
distance and any obstacles that may be interrupting the signal.
➤
Battery may be weak or exhausted.
➤
When you operate DVD, use it by pressing [DVD] button.
➤
Dolby Digital sound can be reproduced via a Dolby Digital amplifier
only.
➤
Please check “Dolby Digital ” mark on your DVD.
➤
If playing it through the digital output, while pressing “STOP”, please
check whether “Digital Output” is “Bitstream” by pressing “SETUP”
on menu.
➤
Please check that the connection is correct.
➤
If a DVD does not include language information, these functions are
not supported.
➤
“ANGLE” is supported only by a DVD that contains multi angle
scenes. The “ANGLE” mark on screen will confirm that to the user
this feature is supported.
➤
Please check the angle of operation of the remote control, the
distance and any obstacles that may be interrupting the signal.
➤
Please check that the battery in the remote control is not exhausted.
➤
DVD may not contain menu information.
➤
The file name of MP3 only recognises the Alphabet (A~Z, a~z),
numbers (0~9) and a special symbols on keyboard (~, !, @, #, $ ....)
10 letters can be displayed at maximum.
➤
The letters above will be displayed as follows “----”.
➤
If the surface of the disc is marked, the file display and playback will
not be possible.
