Using the Configuration Utility

Pre-Shared Key:
WEP can use different methods of Authentication. Select either
Open or Shared.
Open:
to allow any wireless station to associate with the
access point.
Shared:
to only allow stations using a shared key
encryption to associate with it.
Select Enabled or Disabled.
Select the network type from the drop-down menu.
Infrastructure
- Connect to an access point or router.
Ad-Hoc
- Connect to another wireless client (peer-to-peer).
Enter the SSID of your network. You may click
Site Survey
to
select an available wireless AP or router.
Select WEP or WPA-PSK. For more information, see page 27.
Select the WEP/WPA-PSK key format (Hexadecimal or ASCII)
Hexadecimal
- only A-F and 0-9 are valid characters.
ASCII
- All numbers and letters are valid characters.
Select the level of WEP encryption (64 or 128-bit). WPA-PSK only
uses TKIP.
Enter a WEP key. You can make up to 4 different keys.
Select which WEP key to activate.
Enter a WPA-PSK passphrase.
Please refer to page 11 if you wish to use Windows® Connect Now to configure the wireless settings
on your DNS-G120.
