Command parameter, which might be a variable or fixed

Indicates a parameter is a variable. You must enter a
value in place of the brackets and text inside them.
[ ] Square brackets

Indicates an optional fixed parameter.
[< >] Angle brackets within
square brackets
[ <value> ]
Indicates an optional variable.
{} curly braces
{choice1 | choice2}
Indicates that you must select a parameter from the list of
choices.
| Vertical bars

Separates the mutually exclusive choices.
