Color
Description
ON = DSN-5000 series primary array is powered on.
Power
Green
OFF = power is not being received.
ON = a fault occurred with the power supply, fan, over temperature, internal module, or
controllers. Refer to
Error! Reference source not found. for information about
possible causes.
Fault
Amber
OFF = normal operation.
ON = normal operation.
Ready
Green
OFF = normal while DSN-5000 series primary array is booting. After initialization, this
status indicates a problem with the DSN-5000 series primary array.
Blink = used to visually identify the enclosure.
Identify
Blue
OFF = no intent of identification is being performed.

Green
This LED is reserved for future use.
OFF = no drive is installed (drive slot is empty).
ON = drive is online, ready for operation.
Slow Flash = drive is being prepared for removal or is being
rebuilt.
Green
Fast Flash = drive is being identified.
LED 2
Amber
Fast Flash = drive failed and should be replaced (see Appendix
A for information about installing or replacing drives)
LED3
Green
Flash = drive activity is occurring.

Failure Condition

Power Supply Failure
The System Fault LED will be illuminated, and the audible alarm will sound.
Cooling Fan Failure
The System Fault LED will be illuminated, and the audible alarm will sound.
Battery Failure
The System Fault LED will be illuminated, and the audible alarm will sound. A system restart is
required after the battery has been replaced.
Over Temperature
The System Fault LED will be illuminated, and the audible alarm will sound.
Software Failure
The System Fault LED will be illuminated, and the audible alarm will sound.
