Section 4 - Configuration
MAC Filter
The MAC filter is used to restrict or allow certain types of Ethernet Frames
through the gateway based on their source or destination MAC address. These
filters are helpful in securing or restricting traffic on your local network. To
access this page, click IP/MAC Filtering from the Features menu on the bar
on the top of the page and then click the MAC Filter link. To return to the IP
Filter page, click IP Filter.
You may choose from the following options: Disable MAC Filters, Only allow
computers with MAC addresses listed below access to the network, or
Only deny computers with addresses listed below access to the network.
The currently defined MAC filters are displayed in the table. You may define up
to 32 MAC filtering rules. If you wish to remove a rule, click on its trash can icon
( ) in the Delete column. If you wish to edit a rule, click on its pencil icon ( ) in
the Edit column. If you wish to create a new rule, click the Add Rule button.
If you enable MAC filtering, click Add Rule to create a new MAC filtering rule.
Create New Rule
Name:
Create a name for the rule.
MAC Address:
Enter the MAC address to apply the rule to.
Schedule:
Use the drop-down menu to select the time schedule that the rule will
be enabled on. The schedule may be set to Always, or you can create
your own schedules in the
Schedules
section. Refer to Schedule on
page 64 for more information.
Click Apply when you are done.
