If you are not using an Ethernet connection, a list of available
wireless networks will appear. Highlight the network and
click or press
Select
. If the network you are connecting to is
secure, you will be prompted to enter the password.
Once you connect, the Home page will display a green check
mark. Your device is now connected to the Internet.
You may now connect other wireless devices to your DIR-508L and
share the Internet connection. You can also share files by connecting a
USB thumb drive to the router.

Troubleshooting
How do I connect my wireless devices to the DIR-508L router?
1. Open your wireless network utility that displays available wireless
networks.
2. Select the Wi-Fi Network name (
DIR508L
by default) and connect.
You can also connect using WPS:
1. Press the WPS button on the DIR-508L for one second.
2. Within one minute press the WPS button on your wireless device.
3. Allow up to two minutes to connect.
Note:
Some devices may require you to log in to a utility to start
the WPS process. Refer to the user manual of the device you want
to connect to the router if you do not know how to start the WPS
process.
How do I change the wireless settings on the DIR-508L router?
1. Open a web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, or
Safari) and go to
http://dlinkrouter.local.
(or
192.168.0.1
).
2. At the login screen, click or press the
Log in
button (no password
by default).
3. Click or press DIR-508L or click or press
Settings
>
Wi-Fi Settings
.
4. Enter a new wireless name and password. Click or press
Advanced Settings
for more options.

Note:
if you have changed the Wi-Fi Network name, the device you
are currently using to connect to the DIR-508L will drop. You will need
to open your wireless utility and connect to the DIR-508L using the
new network name.
What if I forgot my router password?
1. If you forgot your router password or want to reset
the DIR-508L back to the default settings, press
and hold the reset button using a paper clip and
release after five seconds.
Warning: This process will erase all your settings.
