3.19 Removing a Hard Drive from a Caddy
Tools Required:
#1 Philips or Reed and Prince screwdriver.
Materials Required:
4 Philips wafer head screws, M3 x 3.5 mm.
The caddy has four Philips screws that retain the hard drive. When you remove the screws, the hard
drive can slip out easily.
Use ESD best practices to avoid electrostatic discharge on or within the appliance.

This procedure must be performed with the appliance powered
OFF
and the power cord
disconnected.

1.
Lay the hard drive assembly on a flat, ESD protected surface.
Note:
It is important to use the proper fitting screwdriver to
avoid damaging the screw heads.

With a #1 Philips screwdriver, remove the four screws. See Figure 3 - 60: -

Lift the rear of the hard drive out of the caddy and slide out.
