ADJUSTMENTS (cont.)
RAISING AND LOWERING HEAD ASSEMBLY
The head assembly consists of the cutterhead, knives, feed rollers, cutterhead guard, and the
motor. Raising and lowering of the head assembly controls the depth of cut on the planer.
To adjust:
1.
Unlock snipe lock by moving lever to the left. SEE FIG 4.
2.
To raise the head assembly, turn the adjustment handwheel counter-clockwise.
3.
To lower the head assembly, turn the adjusting handle clockwise.
4.
After setting cut, tighten snipe lock by moving lever to the right.
NOTE:
One revolution of the handle will move the cutterhead up or down approximately 1/16”.
You can confirm this by referencing the scale (C) on the front right side of the planer.
FIG 4
NOTE:
The SNIPE LOCK helps reduce snipe by locking the cutterhead into position when planing.
Set this feature to unlock whenever you are raising or lowering the cutterhead. Then set back to
the locked position before planing your work piece.
