Basic Waffl es

Makes 20

600g plain fl our
4 tbsp granulated sugar
2 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
780ml skimmed milk
170ml vegetable oil
4 large eggs

ß

  Place the ingredients in a large bowl and mix until smooth.  Leave the batter to rest for 5 minutes before 

using.

ß

  Preheat the Waffl e iron.

ß

  When the iron is ready, pour approx. 300ml of the batter into the centre of the lower grid.  Spread the 

batter using a heatproof spatula to within 1cm of the edge of the grid.  Close the lid of the waffl ed iron.

ß

  When the waffl es are done, open the lid and carefully remove the baked waffl es.

Repeat with the remaining batter.
