Xpander Rack Mount 16 5U Gen 3
with Redundant Power [Part #
XPRMG3-1625URP] – User Guide

Xpander Rack Mount 16 5U Gen 3 with Redundant Power (RP) supplies is a rack mount PCI
Express (PCIe) expansion enclosure that enables connection of 16 single-wide PCIe Solid-State
Drives (SSDs) or cards with rear-connected auxiliary power cables to one or two host
computers. Rack Mount 16 5U RPS supports PCIe SSDs with passive cooling and PCIe cards
with rear-connected auxiliary power cables. The host computer must have one or two PCIe x16
PCIe Gen 3.0 slots available for the host interface controller (HICs).

Rack Mount 16 5U RP provides two Main Interface Boards (MIBs) connected to two HICs in one
host computer or connected to one HIC in each of two host computers with a PCIe x16 cable.
Each MIB features 8 x PCIe x8 electrical / x16 mechanical slots to support a total of 16 x single-
wide PCIe SSDs or cards.

Each MIB connects via a PCIe x16 cable to a HIC in a host computer. You can connect both
MIBs to HICs in one computer or each MIB to a HIC in separate host computers.
