8. Use of the device
Using the infrared remote control or the CSS setup software for PC,
a trained
technician
can group any number of the ten functions for switching. Combined
functions can be assigned to each function key on the remote control.
Installation:
Connect your
BIF8plus
to power. If there are no other
BIF8plus
devices in
the room, you can now control the bed with your environment control device.
If necessary, adjust the control further to suit your needs. Once everything is set
up, the
BIF8plus
can be placed at your bed or close to the bed.
Standard control:
The bed interface comes with a standard IR remote control, which has the usual
functions of a bed control in the first three sections. The last two sections can
be assigned as individual commands
by a trained technician
.
Safety
BIF8plus has several security features.
Automatic switching off of a permanent function
A permanent function by continuously pressing a

function key is in-
terrupted after a predefined time. The technician can set the predefined
time before automatic switch-off from 1 to 25 sec.
Multiple activation of the same functions
In order to ensure safe operation via infrared, a mandatory function pau-
se of 2 sec is inserted between the repeated activation of the same
functions before the automatic switch-off is reached (with newer IR re-
mote controls this is implemented via a toggle bit). When the automatic
switch-off is reached, however, the same function can be activated again
immediately. If a new

function key is pressed, the selected function
(function group) is executed immediately.
