Removing NTSC setup (pedestal)
Before conversion to a SDI signal the 7.5% IRE setup (pedestal) applied to NTSC-M
requires removal. The NTSC-J video signal does not have a pedestal present so requires
no further processing.
The position of DIL switch 5 will be determined by which NTSC format is presented.

Vertical Blanking interval information
The information in the vertical blanking period of the analogue input video picture may
be blanked or passed unaltered.
DIL switch 6 sets whether the VBI signal is passed or blanked.

Selecting the operating Mode
There are two modes of operation - synchronisation and delay line. In Synchronisation
Mode the unit takes its timing from the analogue external reference. In Delay Mode,
timing is derived only from the analogue input video.
The operating mode is selected with DIL switch 7
