USING THE MUTE CIRCUIT BOARD (FIG 1)

The external mute circuit is used to mute the audio on your radio. 

Determine whether your radio is equipped with BOSE, then place 

the 8 pin connector into the proper female connector. Reference the 

sticker on the mute circuit board.

PRECAUTIONS:

- Remove the negative side of the battery to avoid any short circuits

   durring the installation.

- Do not install the interface near any major components or near the

   HVAC system. This may cause damage or overheating to the vehicle.

PRELIMINARY:

Please read the entire mannual before installing this interface.

This unit provides the following:

- 12V Acc Output (3A Max/ RAP)

- Illumination Output (250mA Max)

- Low Voltage (Batt Run-Down Protection)

Before installing this interface please review the options before

removing the factory radio. Some options may need to be adjusted

prior to removing the factory radio. Options include:

- Standard BOSE Amplifier

WIRING COLOR CODES

The module has been rated for upto 3A max of output.

For applications demanding a continuous output of 3A or more,

we reccomend using a standard BOSCH (SPDT) relay.

See your local car audio specialist.

- The Front and Rear fading are not retained on Y-91 BOSE.

Tech Tip:

Make sure to wipe the 3.5mm plug

before inserting into the aftermarket radio

to avoid a bad connection.

This Interface Supports:

USING THE SWC WIRE ON NEW JVC UNITS

New JVC units no longer carry the 3.5mm cable and have added the 

SWC signal via a Lt. Blue/Yellow wire.

This wire needs to be connected to the SWC wire labeled “Kenwood” 

also Lt. Blue/Yellow. Be sure to keep the dial switch set to number 4 

when using JVC units.

Use a small screw 

driver to make 

adjustments.

Note: Seek Up is not

supported on Jensen

radios.

ADJUSTING THE GAIN

High Gain (Non-Bose Systems)

Press OnStar button, Heear “Onstar Ready“, Turn Dial knob to “9“, 

Wait 4 seconds, Press Onstar button “Thank you Good Bye“.

Turn Dial knob back to Aftermarket radio corresponding.

The insterface is defaulted at Low-Gain.(BOSE Systems)

REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT (SPECIAL ORDER)

1. Conect the rear seat entertainment 16-Pin connector to the vehicles

   16-Pin factory connector.

2. Connect the RCA’s to the aftermarket radio video and audio input.

3. Test the video and audio before installing the radio into the dash.

BACK-UP CAMERA CONNECTION

1. Conect the back-up camera 16-Pin connector to the vehicles 16-Pin  

    factory connector.

2. Connect the yellow video RCA to the new aftermarket radio video input.

3. Test the video feed before installing the radio back into the dashboard.
