Installing a Backplane

1. Remove the side covers from the enclosure; consult the enclosure’s user manual if needed.
2. Unlock and remove the carriers from the backplane.
3. Insert the backplane into the enclosure so that the fans are on the left-hand side when viewed from the back.
4. Secure the backplane with the screws provided.
5. Attach the SCSI data cable from the controller/host adapter and the terminator to the 68-pin HD SCSI connectors on   
  the backplane. Connect an available 4-pin DC power cable to the 4-pin DC power connector on the backplane.

Cabling and Terminating your Backplane

The backplane essentially functions as a cable. Because of this, 
you only need to have a cable connected to the backplane once. 
An additional cable must be used to connect it to either the 
terminator or an additional SCSI device. 

Designed for 68-pin Wide SCSI and 80-pin SCA SCSI hard drives for 
Ultra2 or Ultra160 applications. Each Kit comes with corresponding 
number of DP VI carriers in your choice of black or PC white SCSI termi-
nator, 5” and 40” Wide SCSI Ultra160 twist fl at cable are included.
