OPERATING CONTROLS
I
Stop Switch
The stop switch ()turns off the engine. When this button
is pressed, the ignition circuit is turned off.
Fuel Fill Cap
To Open: Turn the cap ()counter-clockwise.
To Close: Turn the cap clockwise, make sure the breather
tubeG,is installed.
Fuel Tap
OFF - In this position, the fuel tap is closed. No fuel can
flow to the carburetor.
ON - In this position, the fuel tap in open. This means fuel
can flow to the carburetor. With the lever in this
position, the tank will be emptied.
Choke Lever
When pulling the choke lever()fully toward the topG, , a
cylinder in the carburetor is opened. Through this cylinder,
the engine can take in additional fuel. This results in a rich
fuel and air mixture, which is needed for a cold start. When
pushing down

the chock lever, the cylinder is closed
again.

ENGINE LACKS POWER

-Raise the wheel of the ground and spin by hand.
Does the wheel spin freely?
No
- Brake dragging, improperly mounted brake pads
- Worn or damaged wheel bearings
-Bent axle
Yes - SEE STEP 2
2. CJrec:k the Tire Pre ... �·ure -Use a tire pressure gauge to check the tire pressure of each tire
ls the tire pressure correct?
No
- Faulty tire valve
- Punctured tire and/or inner tube
Yes - SEE STEP 3
3. C/111cll /11spectio11 - Accelerate rapidly through first and second gears.
Docs the engine speed/RPM decrease properly when you shift from first gear to second gear?
No - Slipping clutch, adjust
- Worn out clutch discs and/or plates
- Weak clutch springs
- Contaminating additive in the engine oil
Yes - SEE STEP 4
4. Engine Performance b1spec·tio1t -Accelerate lightly.
Docs the engine speed increase?
No - Clogged air filter
-Restricted or clogged fuel line and/or fuel filter
-Clogged mufficr/spark arrester
- Choke valve is closed
- Clogged fuel tank breather hose
Yes -SEE STEP 5

• Remove the spark plug and inspect
Is the spark plug in good working condition?
No - Spark plug is not serviced frequently enough
-Incorrect spark plug heat range
- Incorrect spark plug gap
Yes - SEE STEP 6

-Check the oil level and the condition of the oil
Is the engine oil level correct and in clean condition?
No - Oil level too high
-Oil level too low
-Contaminated oil

Cylinder Compressi011 l11spectio11
- Check the cylinder compression.
Is the engine compression normal?
No - Valve stuck open/seized or improper valve timing (sec your Crossfire Motorcycles dealer)
- Worn cylinder wall and/or piston rings (replace engine)
- Leaking or damaged cylinder head gasket (sec your Xmotos dealer)
Yes -SEE STEP 8
