“QM-MD7x2 Device Settings” Window
NOTE:
This procedure sets the Net ID for the MD7x2 in the program only. It does
not automatically set the Net ID for the MD7x2 itself. SIMPL Windows
automatically changes Net ID values of a device added to a program if a duplicate
device or a device with the same Net ID already exists in the program. Always
ensure that the hardware and software settings of the Net ID match. For Net ID
hardware setting details, refer to “Identity Code” on page 17.
QM-MD7x2 Symbols in Programming Manager
Programming Manager is where programmers “program” a Crestron control system
by assigning signals to symbols. The MD7x2 is broken down into eight slots. Each
slot contains a programming symbol for specific functions of the MD7x2.
The programming symbol in slot (
) is for programming the switching functions
of the MD7x2. The second slot (
) is for programming the MD7x2’s local
microphone controls.
is for programming the equalizer (EQ) settings for the
microphone signals that are received on the two QM inputs.

EQ controls.
is for programming the MD7x2’s general audio controls.
The following describes each of the symbols contained in the MD7x2 object in the
SIMPL Windows Programming Manager.
Slot 1: Input Switching
The Input Switching module is built into Slot 1 of the MD7x2. It provides a 7-input,
2-output audio/video crosspoint.
The MD7x2 provides the following local video inputs:
•
Three sets of (three) BNC inputs labeled 1, 2 and 3, which accept up to
three composite, S-Video or component video sources.
•
Two RGB video inputs labeled RGB 4 and RGB 5, for computer sources.
The MD7x2 provides the following local audio inputs:
•
Five stereo line-level unbalanced audio inputs labeled AUD 1 through AUD
5.
•
Two dual-purpose microphone/line-level inputs labeled MIC 1 and MIC 2.
