Inserting an SD
Memory Card
(optional)
You can purchase a Secure Digital (SD) memory card to extend the image storage
capacity of your camera.
To install your SD card:
1. Be sure that your camera is turned off.
2. Push and slide open the battery compartment door.
3. Insert the SD card as shown.
To remove the card, push the card.
4. Close the battery compartment door.
• Your camera will
turn itself off
automatically, if the
SD removable card
slot cover is opened.
• The SD memory
card has a write-
protect switch to
prevent the
accidental deletion
of valuable data.
This switch is
disabled by default.
• When the SD card is
protected, images
cannot be recorded.
If an attempt is
made to record or
delete an image
with the camera, the
"Card Protect"
message will appear
in the LCD screen.
• To write or erase
data from the SD
memory card,
release the write-
protect switch.
