TROUBLE SHOOTING
In the unlikely event that you experience a problem with your device,
please take a couple of minutes to check these possible causes prior to
contacting customer support.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
Problem:
The kettle does not work or stops before coming to the boil.
Possible Causes:
• Check that your kettle is properly connected.
• The kettle has been switched on without water.
• An accumulation of scale has caused the overheat cut-out to operate:
Solutions:
• Allow the kettle to cool for at least 15 minutes and fill it with water.
• Descale first if scale has accumulated.
• Switch the kettle on.
Problem:
The water tastes of plastic.
Possible Causes:
Generally, this happens when the kettle is new.
Solutions:
Discard the water from the first few boilings.
If the problem persists, fill the kettle to maximum and add two teaspoons of
baking soda. Bring to a boil and descale the water. Rinse the kettle thoroughly.
Problem:
The kettle has been dropped, it leaks, or there is damage to the power cord, plug,
or base of the kettle.
Solutions:
• Do not use the kettle. No attempt must be made to dismantle the kettle or its
safety devices.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
after-sales service center or a similarly qualified person, in order to avoid any
danger.
• Return your kettle to your local After-Sales Service Center; only they are
authorized to carry out repairs. See the guarantee conditions and list of centers
in the booklet supplied with your kettle. The type and serial number are shown
on the bottom of your kettle. This guarantee covers manufacturing defects and
domestic use only. Any breakage or damage resulting from failure to comply
with the instructions for use is not covered by the guarantee.
• Reserves the right to modify the characteristics or components of its kettles at
any time in the interest of the consumer.
ACCIDENT PREVENTION
• Position the kettle and its supply cord well to the rear of the work surface,
out of the reach of children.
• If an accident does occur, run cold water over the scald immediately and call a
doctor if necessary.
• For a child, a burn or scald, even if slight, can sometimes be serious.
• In order to avoid any accident: do not carry your child or baby at the same time
as drinking or carrying a hot drink.
