Depending on the disinfectant to be used, evacuation of any person with no Personal
Protection Equipment will be mandatory.
Provide PPE to any person staying in the room or space while disinfection operation is in
progress.
Fire smoke detectors will usually detect the mist generated by your Counterfog® PILAR
2.0. Before disinfection, turn off your fire alarm device. Do not forget to turn it on again
after the whole disinfection operation is over.
Air Conditioning and Ventilation (HVAC) system may be necessary to turn it off during
disinfection. Alternatively, Counterfog® PILAR 2.0 can be used to disinfect HVAC systems
and conduits. (Do not use sodium hypochlorite for cupper coil heat exchangers or fan
coils)
Open internal doors, cupboards and drawers of room furniture unless is specifically
indicated to leave them closed.
Remove mattresses from beds and tilt them on their sides.
Assure all personnel have evacuated the room before fogging.
Remove plants, animals, beverages and food.
Close windows and doors of the room.
All entrances to the treatment room must be placarded. Placards must be placed in
advance of the treatment in order to keep unauthorized persons from entering the room
