Biarritz™ Installation Manual v.1.3 - 12
Installation and Testing Procedures
• Remove all packaging material and inspect system thoroughly to ensure that no damage has
occurred during handling/transportation. In the event of damage due to shipping,
immediately notify the freight carrier so that an appropriate claim may be filed with the carrier.
• Select installation location in accordance with the instructions stated in the “Location”
section of this manual (Page 5). When selecting location, consideration must be given to
the proximity of the electrical and plumbing connections.
• Electrical and plumbing connections can now be made in accordance with location
plumbing and electrical codes. Refer to “Electrical Rating”, “Electrical and Plumbing
Connection” sections contained in this manual for technical support information
(See Pages 5 - 8)
Plumbing codes vary from location to location and may require the installation of check
valves (back-flow prevention valves) on incoming hot and cold water supply lines and/or
sanitary drain connections. Due to the variations in plumbing codes, this system is not
supplied with these valves. Please arrange for your plumbing contractor to install the
appropriate devices as required to meet your local codes.
NOTE: ANY METAL PLUMBING PROVIDED DURING INSTALLATION MUST BE
BONDED WITH A #8 AWG WIRE TO THE SAME BONDING GRID AS THE SANIJET
®
MOTORS.
• Once the electrical and plumbing connections are made, the system should be filled
with water and tested so that all plumbing and fitting can be inspected prior to fitting
the enclosure skirt.
WARNING: WHEN WATER TESTING THE SYSTEM, AND BEFORE FILLING THE
SYSTEM WITH WATER, ALL ELECTRICAL ENCLOSURE BOXES MUST BE CLOSED
AND COVERS SECURED, TO PREVENT WATER INFILTRATION SHOULD LEAKS
OCCUR.
• Before filling the Biarritz™ with water, ensure the basin is clean and that no debris or other
foreign matter is inside the basin that could cause blockage of jets when the system is
operated, damage to the hydro-jets system, or scratches to the basin’s acrylic surface.
• Test the system by filling the basin until water reaches approximately 1” (25 mm) higher
than the highest jets. This will avoid water being expelled from the Biarritz™ when
system is activated (See Photo #8 below). NOTE: The basin drain (See Photos #23-24,
Pg.22) must be in the closed position prior to filling.
