OPERATION:

Starting the engine

• Feed fuel into the fuel tank and tighten the cap securely.

• Rest unit on a flat, firm place. Keep the cutting head off the ground and clear of

surrounding objects as it will start moving upon starting the engine.

• Push the fuel pump (primer pump 9) 10 times (until overflown fuels flows out in to the

clear tube).

• When the engine is cool, position the choke lever to the closed position.

• Position the throttle lever to the ‘Min’ position.

• Hold the machine by the front handle in your right hand and using your left hand pull

the starter cable up around 10cm. the pull sharply on the starter cable 4 times and the
machine should start.

• Please Note: never allow the starter cable to

snap back as this may cause damage to the
machine.

• If the engine has started set the choke lever to

open and allow the machine to warm up for
approx. 10 seconds.

Stopping the engine

• Turn the throttle to the ‘Min’ position and press

the ignition button to the STOP position.

• Please note: If the engine does not stop when

pressing the ignition button, move the lever on
the choke to the closed position.

HEDGE TRIMMING TECHNIQUES:

Never allow the machine to run at low speed for
starting or for cutting.

Trim sides of a hedge first and then the top.

Vertical cut:

With the single-sided blade hedge trimmer always
cut from the bottom up.

Horizontal cut:

In order to get the best cutting results tilt the blade 5-10 degrees towards the cutting
direction. Cut slowly, especially for thick hedges.

WARNING!

The hedge trimmer must only be used to trim hedges or small bushes. It is not designed to
trim other types of material. Do not use the hedge trimmer as a lever to lift, move or break
objects. Do not use it for pruning trees or cutting grass.

Cutting for dense growth: The most effective method is to use wide, sweeping movements,
guiding the cutting edge of the blade straight through the branches. A slight incline of the
blade downwards towards the movement will produce best cutting results.

It is recommended to tie a guide line of string or the like along the hedge so that you cut
the hedge to a level height. The branches above it will be cut off. Cutting the side of a
hedge with curve-shaped movements from the bottom up.
