BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE

1. The area within a perimeter of 50ft (15m) of the person using the product

should be considered a hazardous area into which no one should enter. If
necessary yellow warning rope or warning signs should be placed around
the perimeter of the area. When work is to be performed simultaneously by
two or more persons, care should also be taken to constantly look around
or otherwise check for the presence and locations of other people working
so as to maintain a distance between each person sufficient to ensure
safety.

2. Check the condition of working area to avoid any accident by hitting

hidden obstacles such as stumps, stones, cans, or broken glass. Remove any
obstacle before beginning work.

IMPORTANT

Remove obstacles before starting work.

3. Inspect the entire unit for loose fasteners and fuel leakage. Make sure that

the cutting attachment is properly installed and securely fastened.

STARTING THE ENGINE

1. Keep bystanders and animals at least 9ft 10in (3m) away from the

operating point. If you are approached, immediately stop the engine.

WARNING

Never place the throttle into the high speed position when starting the
engine.

3. After starting the engine, check to make sure that the cutting blade stops

moving when the throttle is moved fully back to its original position. If it
continues to rotate even after the throttle has been moved fully back, turn
off the engine and take the unit to your dealer for repair.

Warnings for safe operation

!

Vibration Warning!

Prolonged use of hedge trimmers or any other machine
that vibrates in use, may produce a medical condition
called “white finger disease”, “Raynaud’s
phenomenon”, or “carpal tunnel syndrome”. These
conditions can cause numbness, burning sensations and
circulation damage, and may reduce the hand’s ability to
feel and regulate temperature.

The factors that contribute to these conditions are not
fully known, but high vibrations may be a cause.

Users should take precautions to minimise the risks
which include:

• Wear gloves

• Keep hands warm

• Take breaks from prolonged use

• Keep the chain saw sharp so that it operates as

smoothly as possible

• Maintain a firm grip but do not squeeze too tight and

for too long at any one time. Continual and regular
users should monitor their hands and fingers and if
any symptoms occur, or if you are worried at any time,
cease use and consult your medical practitioner for
further advice.

Warning! Hearing protection.

It is recommended that safety ear/hearing protection is
worn at all times when operating this unit. Engine noise
may damage your hearing. Regular users should have
frequent hearing tests with their doctor. The hearing
protection should be suitable to protect your hearing at
the following levels:

Sound pressure level according to ISO22868
LPA:101dB(A).

Sound pressure level according to ISO22868 LWA:
<114dB(A)

Inhalation Warning!

Using the unit may generate dust, mist and fumes
containing chemicals that could be harmful to the user.
Dust alone may also be harmful and should not be
inhaled. Never use the unit to cut anything that is known
to contain a harmful substance such as asbestos. Always
operate the unit in a well-ventilated location, preferably
outdoors. Remember that the fuel and oil used to power
and lubricate this machine will give off harmful fumes in
use, and when filling – always ensure there is sufficient
ventilation as soon as you start the engine. A dust mask
or breathing apparatus is recommended safety
equipment, and anyone with a respiratory or other
breathing medical condition is advised to consult their
doctor before using the hedge trimmer.

USING THE PRODUCT

IMPORTANT

Cut only materials recommended by the manufacturer. And use only

for tasks explained in the manual.

1. Grip the handles firmly with both hands using your whole hand. Place your

feet slightly apart (slightly further apart than the width of your shoulders)
so that your weight is distributed evenly across both legs, and always be
sure to maintain a steady, even posture while working.

2. Maintain the speed of the engine at the level required to perform cutting

work, and never raise the speed of the engine above the level necessary.

3. If the unit starts to shake or vibrate, turn off the engine and check the

whole unit. Do not use it until the trouble has been properly corrected.

4. Keep all parts of your body away from the cutting blade and hot surfaces.

5. Never touch the muffler, spark plug, or other metallic parts of the engine

while the engine is in operation or immediately after shutting down the
engine. Doing so could result in serious burns or electrical shock.
