Warning: When inserting filters take care to follow the correct sequence and fit
them in the correct position.
The dirty filters must be treated as hazardous waste and must be disposed of in
accordance with Waste Code 31 435 or local regulations.
Maintenance diagram - see page 48
3. Operating instructions
The expanded metal condensation filter can be washed out with alcohol and subsequently
re-used. When doing so, take care that it is replaced in the correct position. Coarse
mesh upwards.
The fine particulate air filter, submicron particulate air filter and wide band gas filter are
not re-usable.
- The fine particulate air filter is the preliminary filter of the submicron particulate air
filter and therefore has to be changed more frequently.
- The submicron particulate air filter is homologated Class H13 in accordance with DIN
24 184 / 24 183 / EN779
- The wide band gas filter is ideally suited to the cleaning of gas fumes and consists of
50% activated carbon and 50% Purafil. The effect of the wide band gas filter is not
recorded by the differential pressure measurement device. It must therefore be checked
at regular intervals by the user for gas punctures.
The wide band gas filter is also available with a pure activated carbon filling for extracting
adhesive vapours. In this application it is recommended that you also replace the
submicron particulate air filter by an activated carbon filter.
A high concentration of noxious gas leads to warming of the activated carbon. Allow
the unit to run on without admitting noxious gas.
Warning: the WELLER WFE35 is not suitable for the extraction of flammable gases.
For diverting the outgoing air, following removal of the air exit diaphragm a DIN 100
breather tube can be inserted into the tube cap. No additional seal is required.

4. Safety instructions
The manufacturer accepts no liability for other usage that differs from the operating
instructions, nor for any unauthorised modifications.
These operating instructions and the warning instructions they contain should be read
carefully and kept in a clearly visible place adjacent to the soldering unit. Failure to
adhere to warning instructions could cause accidents and injuries or be detrimental to
health.
WELLER's WFE35 soldering fume extraction device complies with the EC certificate of
conformity in accordance with the basic safety standards of EC guidelines 89/336/
EEC, 73/23/EEC and 89/392/EEC.
