The connections listed below must be made between the External Source and the IPC located
inside the IPC-8000. Refer to the IPC-8000 Installation Instructions, P10-00059 for additional
details.
For External Source control operations, the IPC J2 pin 8 wire must be connected inside the
IPC-8000 as follows:
1. Inside the IPC-8000, locate W-4, the single -wire cable connected on one end to
TB-2 and
the other end is tied back, not connected.
2. Insert the wire into the IPC J2 connector, Pin 8.
Request/PTT Input
- the External Source is required to provide a “Request” to WAVES
by sending a contact closure to the designated External Source IPC as follows:
o
PTT Input, J3 pin 5 (In)
o
PTT Ground, J3 pin 4 (Ground)
o
Digital Input #1, J2 pin 8 (In)
o
Digital Input #1, J2 pin 3 (Common)
Line Level Audio
- a connection from the External Source providing Line Level Audio; 1.4
VRMS Input to the IPC will provide maximum output power to the network:
o
Line Level (-), J3 pin 23
o
Line Level (+), J3 pin 24
Grant
- a contact closure from WAVES back to the External Source indicating that
control has been granted
o
IPC Relay 1, pin 3 (NO)
o
IPC Relay 1, pin 4 (Common)
Server Connection
- a contact closure from WAVES, indicating the IPC has a
connection to the Server
o
IPC Relay 2, pin 7 (NO)
o
IPC relay 2, pin 8 (Common)
Alarm Signal
- a Normally Open circuit that closes to indicate to the WAVES IPC that
the External Source is in Alarm condition
o
Digital Input #3, J2 pin 10 (In)
o
Digital Input #3, J2 pin 3 (Common)
