Ethernet, introduction
The Ethernet consist of different layers shown in the picture below. Due to the modular structure of Ethernet it
is easy to add new protocols such as fieldbus or user interfaces to the Converteam Ethernet option board in
the future.

Common use-cases of Ethernet – devices are ‘human to machine’ and ‘machine to machine’. Basic features
of these two use-cases are presented in the pictures below.
