Device-Vehicle Configuration

After you signed in to your account press

Add Devices

” and

the RVD Connect Web App will guide

you through the configuration process.

The OBD device needs to connect to the mobile network in order to complete the configuration
process. Please make sure you are not in an area with any coverage issues like an underground
parking or closed garage.

When RVD Connect asks you to scan the QR code on the device sticker you can also scan the QR code
from the sticker included in the box. The sticker on the device and the sticker in the box are identical.

When RVD Connect asks you to manually input the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and you
cannot find it in any vehicle-related documentation please consider that the VIN is always located on
your car. The make and model of your vehicle determine where to find the VIN, however, the most
likely spot is on the dashboard near the windshield. Also, under the bonnet there can be
a VIN stamped within the bodywork.

Attention: Make sure your vehicle is OFF and stationary before installing your RVD 4G OBD

Dongle.

Attention: Ensure no dashboard warning lights are on in the vehicle while it is running, and all other

functions such as headlamps and flashers etc. are working prior to installing the device.

Attention: During the whole configuration process the vehicle must be stationary and may not be

moved.

How to install your OBD Device

-

Find the OBDII Port

The RVD 4G OBD

device plugs into the OBDII port of your vehicle. In most cases you can find the OBD

port of your vehicle in the driver’s legroom below knee level,

under the driver side dashboard near

the steering column or in the center console. If you cannot find the OBD port search the user manual
of your vehicle for more details or call the Continental Support Desk (contact information is given
below).

-

Plug your Device to the OBD Port

Insert the OBD device into the OBDII port until the whole OBDII port of the vehicle is covered by the
connector.
