Defrosting
➢
Meat, poultry and fish should be thawed in the refrigerator to prevent
the
development of bacteria. The other products can be thawed in
ambient air.
➢
Small portions can be cooked right out of the freezer. Many ready-to-
cook
dishes can also be cooked without prior defrosting. Always
follow the
recommendations on the packaging.
➢
Bread and pastries can be thawed in a hot oven.
➢
Microwave ovens can be used to defrost most foods. Follow the
advice
given in the instructions for these ovens.
In the event of a power failure, if the operating stop does not exceed 15
hours, there is no risk of spoiling frozen food. However, do not open the
door (the temperature rise time can be significantly reduced if the device
is lightly loaded).
As soon as you notice a beginning of defrosting, food should be eaten as
quickly as possible. Never refreeze food that has been thawed.
