Connection
To avoid short circuits and any resulting damage, the negative terminal (earth) of the car
battery must
fi
rst be disconnected.
Before reconnecting the negative terminal to the battery, ensure that the device has been
completely connected.
Only use a volt meter, or a diode test lamp, to check the voltage of the vehicle sys-
tem leads, as normal test lamps consume excessive voltage and may thus damage the
vehicle’s electronics.
When connecting the subwoofer, make sure that the connection cables are not pinched
or damaged by sharp edges.
Only connect to suitable loudspeaker outputs from a car ampli
fi
er.
Make sure the impedance and power rating indicated in the technical data complies with
the data for the ampli
fi
er connected. Otherwise, damage to the subwoofer or the ampli
fi
er
can occur.
In order to ensure clear playback, you must operate the subwoofer via an ampli
fi
er with an active switch,
which ensures:
• that there is suf
fi
cient output
• that the subwoofer is only supplied with the bottom bass range of the music signals
• Depending on the vehicle, set the crossover frequency for the active switch between 100 and 150 Hz.

fi
ers
into audible sound waves.
It may only be connected to the loudspeaker outputs on such devices.
It is only suitable for use inside a car; do not use outdoors. Direct contact with moisture, drips or water spray
must be avoided at all times.
Any other use than the one described above may lead to damage to the subwoofer and involves other risks,
such as short-circuits,
fi
re, etc.
No part of the product must be modi
fi
ed or rebuilt.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.
This product complies with all current National and European requirements.
Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions. We do not assume liability for any resulting damage.

or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The warranty will be void in such cases.
An exclamation mark in a triangle indicates important instructions in the operating inst-
ructions. Please read all the instructions before using this device, they include important
information on its correct operation.
• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modi
fi
cation to the product is not permitted.
• Do not expose the subwoofer to high temperatures, drips or water spray, strong vibrations or heavy
mechanical stress.
• Never pour liquids over electrical devices and never place objects
fi
lled with liquid on top of them.
• Do not place naked
fl
ames such as burning candles on top of the device.
• When connecting the subwoofer, consult the safety instructions of the device to which it is to be connected.
• Do not place any magnetic storage media such as
fl
oppy disks or video cassettes close to the car louds-
peakers, as the subwoofer’s magnetic
fi
eld may corrupt data stored on such storage media.
• Do not listen to excessively loud music for long periods of time. This may damage your hearing.
• Excessive volume inside a car may result in you not hearing acoustic warning signals. This constitutes a
danger to yourself and to other road users. Therefore, ensure the volume is at a suitable level.
• Lack of attention in traf
fi
c can lead to serious accidents. Therefore, only use the hi-
fi
system when the
traf
fi
c situation permits and you will not be unduly distracted by operating the system.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous plaything for children.
• If in doubt about how to connect the device correctly, or should any questions arise that are not answered

Installation
Modi
fi
cations to the vehicle, which are made necessary due to the installation of the
subwoofer, must always be carried out in such a manner that neither the traf
fi
c safety nor
the designed stability of the car is impaired. With many vehicles, the MOT will be void, if
you cut out a section of the sheet metal.
If you are in doubt about where to install the device, consult your car dealer.
Before drilling, make sure that this will not damage any electric cables, brake leads, the
fuel tank or suchlike.
When using tools to install your car’s hi-
fi
components, follow the manufacturer’s safety
instructions.
When installing the subwoofer or your hi-
fi
system, please take into account the risk of
injury that can arise from devices being torn away in the event of an accident. Therefore,
you should secure each component in a place where it cannot pose a risk to passengers.
• Select a place suitable for installing the subwoofer. The boot is a suitable place for installation.
• Fasten the subwoofer with belts, clamps or similar, suitable mounting material. A secure attachment in the
spare wheel recess also might be possible.
