5. Set the timer to the desired heating time.
à
The fan will start working and the power indicator
POWER
will light up to indicate the
product is in operation.
à
During heating process the ready light
READY
will turn on/off because the heating
element is being switched on/off to maintain the set temperature.
à
Some food requires shaking halfway through the cooking time (see “cooking chart”).
Pull the frying tank out by the handle and shake it. Then slide the drawer back inside.
6. A bell will sound when the heating time has elapsed.
7. Remove the frying tank and place it onto a suitable heat resistant surface.
11.3.1 Cooking tips
■
Cooking times may be affected by the size of ingredients (e.g. smaller sizes require
shorter cooking times).
■
A light brushing of olive oil or vegetable oil over ingredients works well for air frying.
■
Brush potatoes in oil before cooking to get a crispy result.
■
Always pat food dry before cooking to encourage browning and to avoid excess smoke.
■
The optimal amount of potato for preparing crispy fries is 400 grams.
■
Place a baking tin or oven dish in the frying tank if you want to bake a cake, quiche, or
protect fragile ingredients.
■
To reheat food, set the temperature to 150 °C for up to 10 minutes.
■
Do not overfill the frying tank (e.g. more than 2/3 full).
■
Some foods need to be shaken vigorously or turned over during the cooking time. See
“cooking chart”.
■
To avoid excess smoke when cooking naturally high fat foods (e.g. chicken wings, saus-
ages) it may be necessary to empty fat from the frying basket between batches.
■
Cook breaded ingredients in small batches. Pressing the breading onto the surface helps
it adhere.
■
Encourage air flow around all surfaces by arranging pieces so that they are not touching
each other.
11.4 Overheat protection
If the temperature gets too hot, the overheating protection system will trigger and shut the
power OFF.
If this happens:
1. Disconnect the product from the power supply.
2. Allow the product to cool down completely.
3. Reconnect the product to the power supply.
4. Resume use.
12 Troubleshooting
Problem
Solution
Product does not
switch on
■
Check the power supply.
■
Turn the timer/power dial to the required cooking time.
Ingredients not
fully cooked
■
Cook smaller batches of ingredients.
■
Increase the time and/or temperature setting.
Uneven frying
■
Ingredients that overlap each other (e.g. fries) should be shaken
halfway through the preparation time.
■
French fries should be pre-soaked and dried (e.g. strained and pat
dry using kitchen towels) before cooking.
Food not crispy
enough
■
Check that the ingredients are suitable for oven cooking.
■
Brush a light coating of oil over the ingredients.
■
Fries may need to be cut into thinner pieces
White smoke is
coming out
■
Oil from greasy ingredients will leak into the pan. When oil heats up
white smoke is emitted. This does not affect the product or the res-
ult.
■
Remove excess oil between the frying tank and cooking tray after
each use.
13 Cleaning and storage
13.1 Cleaning
Important:
– Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions.
They damage the housing and can cause the product to malfunction.
– Do not immerse the product in water.
– The product, frying tank, and cooking tray are not dishwasher safe.
1. Disconnect the product from the power supply.
2. Remove the frying tank to help the product cool down faster.
3. Let the product cool down to ambient temperature.
4. Wipe the outside of the product with a damp cloth.
5. Clean the drawer and grill plate with hot water, washing-up liquid, and a non-abrasive
sponge.
Tip:
If dirt is stuck to the bottom of the drawer, fill the drawer with hot water with some wash-
ing-up liquid. Allow to soak for approximately 10 minutes.
