Intended use

The headphone ampli

fi

er is used to distribute an audio signal to four headphone channels. The inputs and

outputs may only be connected to the connections of audio devices.
This product may only be operated with the enclosed power supply unit. The power pack may only be
connected to a mains outlet with 100-240 V AC/50/60 Hz of the public grid. No other electrical power supply
is permitted.
The product may be used only in enclosed indoor locations, never outdoors. Contact with moisture, for
example in bathrooms, must be avoided.
Any use, other than that described above, may lead to damage to this product and involves other risks, such
as short circuit,

fi

 re and electric shock.

No part of the product may be modi

fi

 ed or rebuilt.

The safety instructions have to be followed without fail.

Safety Instructions

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe these safety
instructions. We do not assume any liability for any resulting damage.

We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by incorrect
handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases, the warranty will
be null and void.

In the operating manual, an exclamation mark inside a triangle indicates important
instructions.

The “hand” symbol indicates special information and advice on operating the device.

•   Prior to commissioning, check the device for damage. If the device is damaged, you must not use it.
•   For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modi

fi

cation to the product is not permitted.

•  The headphone ampli

fi

er may only be operated via the supplied power unit.

•   The power pack has been designed in protection class II and may only be operated on a mains socket of

the public grid.

•  The power unit may never be plugged in or unplugged with wet hands.
•   The device is still connected with the mains when it is switched off. To disconnect it from the power supply

completely, the power pack must be pulled out from the mains socket.

•   Check the device for damage frequently. Do not touch the power pack, the headphone ampli

fi

 er or the

connection cable if they show visible damage. First, switch off the power at the mains socket (e.g. with the
corresponding circuit breaker), and then carefully unplug the power supply unit from the mains socket. Do
not use the product afterwards, but take it to a specialist workshop.

•   Never replace a damaged connecting cable of the power pack. If the connecting cable is damaged, the

power cable is unusable and must be disposed of. Do not repair it.

•   Do not listen to excessively loud music for long periods of time. This may damage your hearing. This is

especially the case when playing back using headphones.

•   Keep electrical devices out of the reach of children. For this reason, be particularly careful when using the

device in the presence of children. They may try to stick objects into the device through openings in the
casing.

•   Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dripping or spraying water, strong vibrations or heavy

mechanical stress.

•  Use the device only in temperate climate regions and not in tropical ones.
•   Never position vessels or containers containing liquids, such as glasses, buckets, vases or plants, in the

direct vicinity of the product. Liquids may seep into the casing and thus impair the electrical safety of the
device. Furthermore, there is a signi

fi

 cant risk of

fi

re or a lethal electric shock! In such an event, isolate

the mains socket to which the product is connected (e.g. switch off the automatic fuse) and unplug the
power pack from the mains socket. Afterwards, the product can no longer be used; take it to a specialist
workshop.

•  Do not place open sources of

fi

re such as burning candles on the appliance.

•  Never use the product without supervision.
•  Please observe the additional safety instructions in the individual chapters of this manual.
•   Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous plaything for chil-

dren.

•   If you have doubts about how the equipment should be operated or how to connect it safely, consult a

trained technician.

•  In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s Liability Insurance

Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are to be observed.

•   If in doubt about how to connect the product correctly, or should any questions arise that are not answered

in these operating instructions, please contact our technical service or another specialist.

Set-up

Select a level,

fl

 at and stable mounting location.

Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using an appropriate underlay; otherwise, it may cause scratches.

Connection

To connect the input, only use a suitable shielded audio cable. Use of other cables may
lead to interference.

To avoid distortion or mismatching which could damage the device, only devices with
stereo jack connections may be connected to the input and the outputs.

Prior to connecting the devices, the product must always be switched off.

•  Connect the output from your audio source to the STEREO IN connection (5).
•  Connect your headphones with the connections STEREO OUT(4).

The 3.5 mm and 6.3 mm stereo jacks are stereo-wired and connected in parallel. Only one

socket per channel should be used.

Connecting the Power Unit

When connecting up the power unit make sure

fi

rst that the voltage data on the type plate

of the power pack is compatible with the mains voltage available. Do not connect the
power unit if the data doesn’t comply with the available mains voltage. The wrong supply
voltage may lead to irreparable damages to the device and involve risks for the user.

The mains socket must be in close proximity to the device and also be easily accessible
after the power unit is plugged in to ensure its fast and safe disconnection from the
power grid in case of malfunctioning of the light effect device.

Make sure that the connection cable is not being pinched or damaged by sharp edges.

If you do not use the device, unplug the power plug to switch the device off.

•  Plug the low-voltage plug of the power unit into the 12 V/DC connection (3).
•  Plug the power unit into the mains socket.
•  As soon as the headphone ampli

fi

er is supplied with current, the operation indicator (2) is lit.

Operation

Turn the volume control (1) fully to the left before you plug or unplug, put on or connect
the headphones to the power supply. Otherwise, there is risk of damage to your hearing
as a result of excessive volume from the headphone output.

•  Connect the device to the power supply as described above.
•  Start the playback on your audio source device.
•   Adjust the headphone’s volume with the corresponding volume controls (1). Each channel has a separate

volume control.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Please use a soft, dry, clean cloth for cleaning.
Do not use any chemical cleaning agents, as they can discolour the casing surface.

Disposal

Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in the household

waste!

Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
