7. Registration of the DECT Repeater
The DECT repeater first needs to be registered at your DECT base station. This procedure
generally works like registration of an additional handset at the DECT base station.
Depending on base station, you may need to use automatic or manual registration. If automatic
registration fails, perform manual registration. Due to the many DECT basis stations on the
market, there may be problems with registration.
Perform registration in the proximity of the DECT basis station (distance at least 1
meter).
Observe the DECT repeater flashing signals during registration. For manual
registration, you will also need a DECT handset. Also observe that the connection
code of the DECT basis station is set to “0000”.
Disconnect the DECT repeater from the power supply after successful registration
and place it in the desired location. The previous successful registration is not lost!
a) Automatic Registration
1. The DECT repeater must not be in operation; pull the DECT repeater’s mains adapter from
the mains socket.
2. Activate the registration mode for a new handset at your DECT basis station.
Usu-
ally, a button at the DECT basis station must be kept pressed for at least 5 seconds for this.
Observe the operating instructions for your DECT phone.
3. Now connect your DECT repeater to the mains adapter and connect the mains adapter to
a mains socket.
4. The DECT repeater LED flashes.
5. After a short time, the DECT repeater LED should be lit permanently. The registration
process is now completed and the DECT repeater is ready for operation.
If the LED continues to flash, perform registration again. Reset the DECT repeater
first, see chapter 7. c).
In some DECT basis stations, automatic registration is not possible. Observe the
next section on manual registration.
